Celebrating the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible 1611 -2011

2011 sees the celebration of the King James Bible a text that is discribed as changing the world. The King James Bible was the first text written in English and was to become the most widely distributed and read book throughout the English speaking countries. Before printing was invented, scribes had to copy the bible books by hand without making mistakes. It was a difficult job requiring lots of concentration. it took 7 years to complete the writings. the word Bible actually means Library, it was a library of some 40 writers who wrote the text as we have it today. the original laugauges the Bible was written in was Aramaic and Latin. C.S. Lewis was a Christian and wrote the story The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe with the big story of the Bible in mind. The main character Aslan can be seen to have been the son of a great Emperor, gave himself up for someone else's fault to be jeered and killed, came back to life again, is sometimes spoken of as a lamb very similar to the life of Jesus the Son of God. The Bible has influenced all areas of life; whether the arts, the laws of lands, philosophy, inform medical practice, principles for trianing leaders, wisdom for the good of all; above all the Bible will always be understood to be the Word of God, a Word that brings not only a teaching for living and gaining wisdom; but this 'Word'has produced many a testimony of lives and hearts that are changed and empowered and find purpose and life ..............discover more about this book
